Ana Petrova was born in Bulgaria, to a long line of makers. Her grandmother’s exceptional craftsmanship in loom weaved fabrics and her
mother’s tailoring skills- two of the oldest art forms and functional crafts, shaped her interest in design and applied arts. She studied ceramics and
pedagogy and later worked as an art and textile teacher.

Ana created her first collection of sculpted leather jewellery in the beginning of 2020 while living in Manchester with the intention to produce a certain amount of drama and surprise in her works, creating voluminous large organic forms, durable and wearable pieces. The designs are a blend of sustainable practices and unique modern shapes and demonstrate Ana’s
strong commitment to promote second life for materials.

She was recognised internationally with the selection of the Indigo Vessel Ring for Infinito Barocco Roma Jewelry Week, October 2024.

Ana Petrova uses reclaimed genuine leather for her jewellery pieces, always searching for innovative ways to treat the material. Leather as a medium has the ability to take and hold shapes, it is durable and lightweight, so Ana was always
fascinated by the idea of giving volume to the flat piece of leather, to sculpt it and make it wearable. She believes that giving second life to materials and showing their unexpected potential is a way we fight fast fashion and overconsumption.

Driven by personal interpretations of natural and urban shapes, music and art, Ana creates these unique, bespoke adornments, incorporating methods from traditional pottery, leather and textile crafts. Her big and voluminous, organic-shaped jewellery often resembles vessels, flowers or serpents. Surprising and provocative, these rings, earrings and chokers are dramatic, yet wearable, adding a touch of uniqueness to an even simpler outfit and emphasising the wearer’s personality.
