REGENERATION PROJEKT | 2023

Anna Weidle was born in Moldova in 1972.
In 2003, she moved to Germany, where she currently lives.

Anna's photography reflects her inner world, shaped by her perceptions, thoughts, feelings, memories, dreams, emotions, and losses. Her work is deeply personal, capturing the essence of her emotions.

Anna not only documents her point of view but also creates a dialogue between reality and imagination, inviting the viewer to see the world from a new, profound perspective. Her work explores themes of identity and transformation, capturing both fleeting and deeply significant moments in life.

In our rapidly changing world, where trends and popularity often overshadow sincerity, Anna remains true to her style, reminding us that real art goes beyond surface aesthetics.

By photographing sensitive and meaningful subjects that matter to her, Anna invites her audience to reflect on their own world and perceptions, fostering a sense of connection through shared experiences.

I photograph using both digital and analogue cameras. I create conceptual photography projects. I also make digital and paper collages.

My current project, Regeneration, explores the topic of menopause—a natural stage in a woman’s life when her body gradually reduces the production of specific hormones, leading to a range of physical and emotional transformations. However, social norms often discourage open discussions about this subject.

The motivation and purpose of my project are to break the silence surrounding this phase of life at all levels of society. As I am currently experiencing menopause myself, I am confronted with many fears and a lack of understanding about what is happening to my body.

I have photographed myself. I have also photographed in Sicily, on Mount Etna, as well as in Portugal, Greece, Japan, and France.
