“My work is based on the admiration, study and practice of Panamanian popular graphics, especially those of the interior of the Republic. I’m inspired by a wide variety of applications, including the painting of chivas and buses, the signs for dances, restaurants and grocery stores, commercial billboards and road signage, and graffiti and street art. I enjoy urban compositions produced by chance, where characters, media, color and texture clash, and where wear, traditions and the language of commerce transform, coexist and react to the tropical condition.”
