Audrey Melton is a Thai-American photographer based in Brooklyn, NY. Growing up, Melton moved around the United States and often turned to her camera to explore her new surroundings. She became her high school’s yearbook photo editor and began to realize the doors photography could open. She dropped in and out of multiple colleges for two years as she documented the early 2010’s indie music scene across the US’ East Coast. In 2016, she received a BFA in Fine Art Photography from George Washington University’s Corcoran College of Art & Design.

Melton works as a commercial photographer in New York. Her personal work explores human’s interaction with nature, environments that reflect solitude, and memories of home. She still creates work in a similar way to how she did as a child, roaming new places alone, and observing the unusual in the commonplace. She uses color and textures to highlight the feelings she encounters within empty environments.
