Chloe Lennon grew up in the midlands of rural Ireland near Athlone town. In 2016, she graduated from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin with a BA (hons) specializing in ceramics. After this, Lennon moved to London where she worked in the studio of porcelain installation artist Valéria Nascimento for 4 years. In early 2021, Lennon set up her own ceramic studio back home in rural Ireland.

I have always been fascinated by the unpolished side of nature. Growing up I was drawn to the rough, disintegrating forms of dried plant pods and bleached bones. In a forest I would look at the scarred bark of the trees and the growths of lichens and mosses which created enchanting micro-landscapes. The textures of the earth around us can be so captivating, whether it’s a pebble that’s been perfectly rounded by the sea, the jagged edges of the cliffs, or the crumbling bogland soils. My work focuses on these intriguing landscapes and the erosion, disintegration and destruction within them, aiming to capture the beauty of these places and to share my fascination with nature’s ever-changing landscapes.
