WORSHIP

Chloe Williams is a twenty-five-year-old film photographer, who lives in South Wales. Chloe completed her degree in Photography in the Arts in UWTSD and she has been doing photography for around nine years overall. She first fell in love with photography as a way to process emotions. Everything became easier to understand after taking photos and she felt more peace with a camera in her hand. Since leaving university, Chloe has mainly been doing photography as a hobby to discover what kind of photographer she wants to be. This led to her exclusively being an analogue photographer and exploring what she can create with film. Since then, she has created work for many galleries across the UK and mainly makes work when exploring new places with her partner.

FLOATING AWAY | 2024

When I was younger, I tried drawing and painting during my school years as I loved doing Art. It was always fun to make artwork from what my brain came up with. For my Art GCSE, I originally began with the idea of my art floating about a cityscape by balloons as it was when the movie UP was released and I fell in love with it. My parents bought me my first camera around this time and I took many photos of the sky to integrate into that piece. It was my very first proud moment in photography and then it spiraled from there. Ever since my work has been connected to surrealism and is usually fantastical. I want to create work that people remember or believe they have previously seen somewhere, a sense of deja-vu. I came up with this work when I thought about past dreams I’ve had and what human objects would not normally be found in the natural landscapes.

This is a compilation of work created just before the pandemic and during the pandemic. I am still living in my childhood home at the age of 23, it is a place filled with memories of all kinds of emotions. I want these photographs to evoke a form of nostalgia for the viewers. Possibly of their childhood home, their current home or just a simple memory.
