What will the remains of our civilisations look like in a million years? New series of Ábel Lakatos contemplates the contrast of geological time and human footprint, through the unique medium of porcelain cob. Vine branches are used to keep the structures together while drying, but they burn out leaving cavities, physical memories of organic matter. Bright, clean colours are quite rare in minerals, but coloured porcelain, having as high a melting temperature as magma, will definitely be one of the few materials that will outlive us by millions of years.
