Flat silver, egg shaped ring with signature moving pins - the perfect fidget ring!

“I remember as a young child my grandfather splitting open palm-sized flat slates on the beach to reveal the magical traces of ancient sea creatures. Soft moss has grown upon this memory”.

Each ring is cut & ‘mossed’ by hand. Variations in pin distribution & shape are intrinsic to this so every ring is unique. Moss was McGilchrist’s first collection. Light glinting on the stems of a clump of moss on a stone wall led her to consider the life cycles of all things, animate or not. This is where she developed he signature technique, creating moveable pins on flat or hollow surfaces. This has gone on to become a primary feature in building metaphor in most of mher work to date. 

This piece also comes in a blackened silver with 9 c gold and a blackened silver only version.
