INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S MONTH EXHIBITION

 
 

A group exhibition and launch event curated by Balany Piti (Creative Debuts), Ema Marinova (Cluster), Maryam Lawal (House of African Art), Mia Maxwell (Fem Zine), Skye Kelly-Barrett (Roar Agency) and Tina Ziegler (Moniker Art Fair).

 
 

The exhibition presents a cross-section of hugely talented curators and artists who are using their unique visual language to create striking and important work. Launching during International Women’s Month, the exhibition showcases over 100 creatives, all celebrating women through their practice.

THE CURATORS:

Balany Piti, curator and manager of events at Creative Debuts. Her passion and continuing support for the arts community brings emerging artists to the forefront for this event. Balany will be showcasing an exciting and diverse collection of London based artists responding to her theme ‘I Am Woman’. @creativedebuts

Ema Marinova, founder and creative director of Cluster, has a mission to change the art fair landscape to positively disrupt the arts system and change the traditional art-training structure. Founded in 2016, Cluster set out to be London’s most affordable art fair, having grown into a celebration of diversity, style, material and themes of ethnicity, background, age and class. Ema’s concept ‘Defiance’ will show the resilience and power of female artists though the exhibited work. @cluster__illustration

Maryam Lawal, founder of House of African Art (“HAART”), a UK-based platform exclusively dedicated to promoting and selling contemporary African Art. In addition to visual art, HAART puts on events encompassing talks, music, poetry and performance art. Maryam will be exhibiting artists whose work celebrates women and the female psyche, including photographer Àsìkò and contemporary artist Halfaroastchicken (Eve De Haan). @houseofafricanart

Mia Maxwell, artist and facilitator, with their work spanning from fashion styling, curation, creative direction, publishing and education, graphic design and zine making, dealing with issues of representation, gender, class, and disability. Mia founded FEM ZINE London in 2017 and has since become a pivotal platform in the zine community. A large display of zines will all share an untold perspective, aimed to empower marginalised people, through creative print publishing.

Skye Kelly-Barrett, founder of Roar Illustration Agency; a unique boutique art agency representing a carefully curated selection of the most talented artists, both established and emerging within the creative industry. Having worked as an Art Director and Curator, Skye realised the space in the market for an artist agency that promoted them within the New Contemporary art field. Skye brings performance to the evening, with artists creating live art throughout night. @roarartists

Tina Ziegler, one of London’s leading female art curators from Moniker Culture, presents a celebration of todays finest digital artists and a spotlight on leading women led NFT art projects. Exhibiting NFT artists include World of Women, Boss Beauties, Mile Lilli, Mariam Omoyele, Leah Ibrahim Samo, Beryl, Laura Balbarde and many more. @monikerartfair
