Daiwen Wang, born in Beijing, China, is renowned for her innovative use of materials in contemporary jewellery. Drawing inspiration from everyday life, her creations offer a subtle yet insightful commentary on its beauty through clever and intricate designs.

Daiwen earned her degree in Fine Arts/Jewellery from Pratt Institute in New York, where her distinctive approach quickly garnered recognition. Influenced by her parents' artistic backgrounds, she developed a passion for handcrafts at an early age, fostering her appreciation for art and aesthetics. During her time in New York, she received numerous opportunities to exhibit her work and earned various awards, cementing her reputation as a rising talent.

For Daiwen, art jewellery transcends mere adornment; it serves as a medium for conveying ideas and emotions, offering a deeply personal and profound form of self-expression.

“I love making my jewellery playful. Imagine the delight you feel every time you eat a piece of fruit—it’s like that same joy when your body absorbs vitamins or when pills dissolve in water. I use glass and gemstones in my jewellery, reminiscent of the squishy, colourful gummies I enjoy daily. The glass is vibrant and transparent, brought to life using a technique called flame work, which I employ in all my glass creations. Fruits like grapes always remind me of gems, and just like therapeutic crystals, they bring a sense of well-being, much like vitamins do for me.”
