Eléonore Rose comes from Nantes, in southern Brittany. She has always been drawn to creating shapes, exploring textures and playing with colours.

In 2012, she began training in cabinetmaking, inspired by all the possibilities it offered. She is passionate about wood and has a growing fascination for glass and transparencies.

During her training years, she worked a few years in a luxury furniture company. It was a valuable experience due to the expected skills and the diversity of materials used.

Eléonore also worked with furniture designers in two vibrant artistic cities, Manchester, UK and Amsterdam, Netherlands.
She draws her inspiration and nourishes herself from the places she discovers, and develops her own vision of interior decoration.

Back in France, she created her own brand. This is how Léon Léone was born in 2018.
Mindful of the environment, using second-hand raw materials became an obvious challenge. Eléonore produces and offers works which identities are imbued with brightness, delicacy, joy and a responsible approach to making.

SPRINGTIME GLASS CANDLESTICK

I often go to flea markets and second-hand stores near my home or when I’m on holiday to buy glass pieces for the lights I make. I love those messy places where you can find abandoned treasures. I let my eye wander and stop on a shape, a colour or a sparkle that makes me feel something, even if I don’t know exactly what I’m going to do with it.

SPRINGTIME GLASS CANDLESTICK

I always start building around glassware that appeals to me at that moment. Then I imagine a combination of glass and wood to form a new volume, often round and generous. My ambition is to elevate materials and to give a personality to a singular object.
