Franziska Lyon has a background in goldsmithing and studied jewellery and objects in Pforzheim. Growing up in a small village in rural western Germany profoundly shaped her perspective and creative direction. Her sensitivity to her immediate surroundings and her exploration of personal connections to them have guided her towards working with diverse materials and engaging deeply with the objects around her.

Her practice begins with discovery—finding objects—and extends into an exploration of their agency and relationships. It is grounded in a radical relational ontology and a solidarity with multiple forms of animism. At its core lies a fluid sense of "we," encompassing both human and non-human entities, reflecting a vision of interconnectedness. Franziska approaches the world not as a separate observer but as an integral part of it—an equal participant among many actants.

The encounter is central to her work, as it is through encounters that our shared world takes shape. Her creations serve as an invitation to consciously perceive, to connect, and to listen deeply to the resonances of things. They urge us to turn towards one another and embrace a more attuned and mindful relationship with the world.
