HARVEY MCMILLAN AKA HARVMCM

Harvmcm is an artist and designer from Scotland who has been creating and sharing art online for over two years. Harvey was born in Dundee in 2001 and is currently based out of Montrose, a small town between Dundee and Aberdeen. Harvey just recently transitioned from being a full time student at the University of Dundee, for architecture, into being a full time artist as of March 2022. His obsession with art really took over at the start of the covid pandemic when art became both a focus and an outlet for his emotions.

Harvey’s signature BLOCKS style is predominantly created digitally and is influenced both visually and thematically by his personal surroundings and pop culture. His upbringing and emotions play large roles in the artwork. The artwork is expressive and playful, through its use of a varied colour palette and visually unique and striking style.

This shows in his work, clothing and collections. Harvmcm wants to take his BLOCKS style as far as can be and has ambitions of tackling many mediums such as jewelry, fashion, fine art, sculpture and more.

Harvey has had his art featured in Times Square, ZORATOPIA, SXSW, SoHo NYC, Farrago London and on ads across NYC this year.

“When I create my more personal works I typically start without any set agenda. I start from a place of curiosity; I let my intuition lead the way to draw out what is subconsciously there. It’s always very liberating to let go and explore where the pen takes me. I’m free to surprise myself, and the complexity and structure comes only from the style I apply to my creations. My art style is uniquely mine and I love the versatility and individuality it allows. My style can be applied to almost any medium or subject matter, which is one of the things that excites me most. There is so many possibilities with my art.”
