Idoia Unzurrunzaga, Donostia-San Sebastián 1968, studied fine arts and photography. Since the beginning of her career in 1996, she has combined professional works in the field of architecture and culture with personal projects.

Her professional activity is carried out in the Basque Country and her photographs have been published in 37 books, monographs on architects, thematic books on architecture, exhibition catalogues and catalogues raisonnés of artists.

In her personal projects she creates photographic series of her surrounding reality and focuses on three main themes: Architecture, portraiture and nature. The city she inhabits, the people who accompany her and herself, and the nature that surrounds her. The curiosity to discover new aspects, however trivial they may be, and to delve into the
unknown of what surrounds her, motivates her to create. She creates photographs as a medium to learn, because she is attracted by the experience of the work itself and creates photographs as a means to express her feelings.
