THAT’S THE REASON | 2013
Inkyung Seo is South Korean artist who is interested in the classic photography techniques of Gum bichromate print, Engraving, and Painting.
She is a print major in graduate school, and was fascinated by the classical photography techniques of the 19th century, gumbichromate print 'pictorealism'.
In 2010, she was selected for the 'BODA' exhibition support contest project in photography, and with her 'winged' exhibition.
In 2017, she participated in the Louvre Art Expo with her dragonfly gum print works.
In 2018 Artrooms Fair Seoul Open Call for Artists, showcasing the charm of Gumprint for dragonfly wing works at Hotel Riviera Cheongdam in Seoul south Korea .
She's mostly inspired by dragonflies, and getting a clue to her work from her thoughts .
“There is a desire between birth and death.
My work focuses on the desire between life and death.
I think art is about discovering tiny sparkles in the world. In the tiny wings of a sparkling dragonfly, I dream of hope. I learn the challenge in the ecological ‘metamorphosis’ of a transforming dragonfly.

Isn’t that the only a living person can enjoy? Just enough for the desire to lift us up.
Just enough to spread our mediocre wings. Ordinary desire to live on. Common desire to live on. Normal desire to live on. If we can’t even have a mediocre dream. We can not say that we are yet alive. Let’s dream and desire! That’s the only reason we are living.”
