Pompeii | 2018

Ingrid Racková and David Suchopárek, who have been making art together as IRDS since 2001, are graduates of Prague’s UMPRUM (1993–1999). After many years of design work that gave them confidence in handling materials, they have managed to transform this “genetic inheritance”, the seemingly impossible marriage between intimate space and monumentality, into their own artistic approach to glass, which currently has three different aspects.

POMPEII vases

Inspired by Roman antiquity reflecting the mosaics of the ancient city of Pompeii.

Their geometric objects made from cut and layered coloured glass are considered to the last detail and made with flawless craftsmanship into the form of pyramids that become the visual and emotional centre of any space. Racková and Suchopárek can fully utilise all the optical effects of glass and choose colour combinations that make each of these archetypal shapes feel unique.

We are glass artists creating a variety of sculptures, 3-dimensional paintings and design with coloured glass and crystal.
We embrace various techniques, we work with blown glass, cut glass and moulds.
We have been creating unique glass pieces for 20 years.
Our purpose is to create beautiful glass pieces that move you when you look at them. They come from our inner perspective and we are inspired by the world around us. We are nature enthusiasts and our pieces often embody the natural aspect of life.

CÉZANNE sculpture | 2022

CÉZANNE sculptures

Free and spontaneous. Inspired by the painter Paul Cézanne.
This composition of colours and shapes remind us of his style of combining cool and warm tones

We love colour, blending, graduating, reflective, soft and sparkling. However we use it, we create inner dimensions and new colour space in our work.
Working with our collectors to create a piece specifically for them is a joy we cherish. Bringing to fruition ideas that are personalized, enriches the creative process.
