About self-portraits:

Creating self-portraits has become a major part of my life and work. For me it is a way to connect with my inner self and understand the person I am becoming. What I cannot fully express in words I try to express through my images. I do not always have a detailed plan or a concept in mind when creating my self-portraits. Most of the time it is an intuitive process. I also try not to worry much about understanding the exact meaning of my self-portraits during the process of creation. The true meaning of the image will eventually reveal itself to me over time.

About flowers:

I have always been drawn to flowers. I love capturing their beauty and fragility. Flowers can have so many meanings and symbolism connected to them. I love the idea that we can use flowers as a method of communication. Sharing our deepest desires and feelings without the need for verbal communication. We have done it for centuries. The language of flowers (floriography) was very popular during the nineteenth century and was an important part of Victorian culture and tradition. The art of communicating through different flowers is a theme I am excited to explore more in my photo projects.
