Miho Inagaki is a Japanese ceramic artist who born in 1950. At 25 years old, she started teaching herself ceramic art. When she procured her own kiln in 1989 she started creating more unique work through a process of trial and error.
Her electric kiln is an old and custom-made one that has a chamber for the wood-fired reduction. For reduction, oak, pine and cherry are distinguished to get different tastes.
Firing can take as long as 14 hours.
Type 1: Clay with stainless mesh.
Different shrinkage of clay and iron create an unpredictable effect.
Her works can be divided into three types.
Type 2: Imaginary creature.
An image in her mind becomes a strange creature.
Type 3: Daily goods such as dishes, pots, vases and lampshades.
They bring us richer lives and minds.
