Nikola Vintrova is a Slovakian photographer based in London. In June 2021 she graduated from BA Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at LCC, UAL.

In her personal work, she reflects on her past experience, using photography as a phototherapy tool.
She is also interested in Fashion Photography, especially documenting the busy backstage of fashion shows. She has worked as backstage photographer for London Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week and Bratislava's Fashion Live.

'Burning out' is a combination of performative portraits, still lives, personal archive images and handwritten text documenting the exhaustion, pressure and stress leading to the feeling of almost burning out at the age of 23.
It takes the form of a photo book, in which Nikola contemplates how she got to this point.
The first part of the book - State of Mind - is a reflection on her toxic habits and life in London. In the second part - Burning out - Nikola conducts a ritual burning of the objects that represent the pressure that she put herself under. In the last part - I wish I were home, I wish I were a child - she used her archival landscape images from the village she grew up in, to reflect on the peaceful life she used to live before she moved to London.
