CA TA CA IV | 2020 | CROCHETING, BASKET WEAVING, ETCHING

I work with my surroundings and my own history, constructing objects that evoke the concept of self-generation of protection, which comes from the desire to find a shelter in the face of so much immensity - the Patagonian pampas. I use mostly woven and sewn wefts with fibres and threads, using techniques supposedly reserved for the feminine sphere within the domestic space and invented from the imaginary and the memory of family experiences, evoking that "handmade", ancestral world, which disappears little by little, in an increasingly industrial and globalised world.

I invite the participation of the spectator, body and piece establish a certain relationship, to wear these objects you have to be an accomplice, to connect with their poetics.
