The skilful and monumental record ‘Colour of Strings’ deals with crafts’ visual archive through the process of adapting imagery the artist virtually created, and it composes via diverse colours while expressing contrast with various subject matter based on woodworking.
It simultaneously handles the technological capabilities included in the past era’s industrial pillar and the artist’s formal ideas, it uses the medium of crafts to restore these as an exhibition and artwork, and it discovers the identity of contemporary craft artists, who combine urban aspects with art, to attempt an opening of new colouring and work in a new era

The Colour of strings is a series of furniture that expresses the traditional colours of Korean thread in a crafty way. We used natural dyeing by winding threads around the wood that was manufactured and expressing it in a craft work.

The artist’s art archive allows the appreciation the artist’s identity of creating works emphasising urban and craft qualities appearing in various cities’ technological prowess and cities of art culture, and, particularly, the artist depicts various forms in which ‘roguro’ (wood turning) technology is applied. Roguro refers to a wood processing lathe that grinds or carves out cylinders by rotating materials of various dimensions.
It is a representative carpentry machine that is also among the oldest and most widely used machine tools, various carpentry machines were produced since the Industrial Revolution, arising was the issue of craft’s choice between mass producing few items or producing limited editions of many items, and the artist noted this and created works offering the chance to pay close attention to crafts’ period and historic qualities while simultaneously reflecting on the fundamentals of design.

Dal-hangari series
Dal-hangari' is a Korean word for pronouncing moon jars and has an attractive volume, texture, form, and space. The difference between pottery and pottery is that it is made using a wood turning, so it has the power of a round curve and perfect left and right symmetry.
