Shweta’s journey with clay started in 1989 and she feels extremely grateful to have had the privilege of learning clay sculpture and ceramic pottery under two grandmasters of Indian art, Shri Ram Kumar Manna and Shri Devi Prashad. Learning for her has been an insatiable journey constantly evolving, and she has enjoyed working with many senior artists internationally to continue discovering the multifaceted medium of clay with its infinite possibilities.

Her artworks have been a part of multiple ceramic shows in India and abroad, and  are also in many private art collections. Her ceramic installation was displayed at the National Gallery of Modern Art (Delhi) chosen as one amongst the 70 women artists of India recently in March 2021.
In 2021 she was awarded the All India Merit Grant by Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation. 
Her work was also awarded the Silver Plaque at International Exhibition of Ceramics and Glass MIKS18 at Zagreb, Croatia in 2018.

Parched earth, nurtured earth 2 | 2021

 

She is a member of the international ceramic organisation Artaxis, and is on the jury for this organisation. She has also been on the jury for the International Studio Art Symposium, 2020.
Her work was published in 2012 by the American Ceramic Society in the book Naked Raku and Related Bare Clay Techniques. It has also has been featured in many publications some of which include Architectural Digest, Pool Magazine, Art Soul Life Magazine, Deccan Herald and Architects and Interiors India. 
Her studio is based in New Delhi, India.
