SOL NOVA

Cluster Contemporary Jewellery Exhibitor 2022

Polina Voynova is a young jewellery designer and UAL LCF (BA) Fashion Jewellery Graduate.

She spent her childhood and youth in the world’s largest capitals. Since an early age, Polina enjoyed blending in with the cityscape and observing life around her.

The urban environment has always been an endless source of inspiration for her. She loves the faceless space of modern megapolises and how people, events, and time make it unique.

Modern architecture that filled the cities she lived in enormously influenced her art style. There are many references to contemporary architectural masterpieces in her collections.

Polina creates pieces that reveal their individuality only when somebody wears them.

I work with light and adorn the human body the way architects use natural light to shape the space inside and around the building. The minimalistic design and the pure materials of the pieces are just the media to reveal the sophisticated beauty of dynamic light and help the wearer concentrate on the experience, which is a core concept of these creations.

The masterpieces of Le Corbusier (Church of Saint – Pierre, Firminy, France) and Daniel Libeskind (Jewish Museum, Berlin, Germany) inspired my collection.

Imagine a city made of glass and concrete, where one building looks like another. And reflected sun rays dance on your skin as you glide along the streets.

This game of light and shadow has always been mesmerizing me. Once I came up with an idea to make it wearable, and that is how it all started.
