Halfway between Surrealism and Romanticism, the protagonists in Sonia's work are almost exclusively women.
Textures, veils and transparencies are also a fundamental part of her work. Sonia expresses herself with an artistic language closely related to surrealism and visual poetry, in which she combines both life and dream experiences.
They connect us with the Romantic era's feminine iconography, like Ingres' odalisques or John Everett Millais' Ophelia, the Art Déco movement (Tamara de Lempicka) or Gustav Klimt's symbolism.
