Tara Dahlin originates from Gothenburg, Sweden, a city renowned for its industrial heritage, where she found her calling in the art of creation. Trained as an industrial designer at IKDC, Lund University, and Hochschule für Gestaltung in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Tara embarked on her professional journey in Stockholm before relocating to London, where she honed her skills over five fruitful years. In 2022, she returned to her roots in Gothenburg to establish TADA, a studio dedicated to exploring the realms of intuitive design and craftsmanship.

Initially drawn to wood carving as a creative outlet, her journey took a transformative turn when she discovered the expressive potential of stone as a medium, igniting a profound affection for the craft. Now, Tara embarks on a new chapter as she prepares to unveil her creations at Cluster Craft Fair, marking her debut exhibition since the inception of TADA. This exhibition not only signifies a milestone in her career but also represents a celebration of her journey from industrial inspiration to innovative craftsmanship.

As the final piece emerges, transformed from its original state, my intention is reshaped once more by the intuition of the viewer. Their interpretation of the work adds new layers of meaning, sparking a continuous process of looking and interpreting that I cherish deeply.
— Tara Dahlin

I’m captivated by the transformative potential of reshaping perception, blurring the boundary between the natural and the crafted. Guided by the interplay of intention and intuition, I trust the unfolding synergy between myself and the material as I create. Carving in stone feels like uncovering hidden treasures; while I anticipate what lies beneath the surface, I’m continuously amazed by the discoveries that emerge. Each carve becomes a profound dialogue with the material, a journey into the unknown where my imagination is stretched beyond its limits.
