Her minimalist aesthetic allows the delicate details of wilting flowers to take centre stage. These decaying blooms symbolise the transient nature of life and the beauty that endures even in the face of decay. Through her lens, she seeks to highlight the poignant elegance that emerges from loss, inviting viewers to reflect on their own experiences of grief and healing.

“As an extension of my previous project, Silent Withering, which explored themes of grief and loss using roses as symbols of beauty despite their wilting decay, My Photography is My Therapy continues to delve into these profound themes. Following the loss of my grandad, whose funeral coincided with my graduation week, I found the courage to once again use photography as my therapeutic outlet.
In this new series, I photograph wilting sunflowers—symbols of warmth, happiness, and positivity. By stripping away all colour, I focus on my grief, creating a visual narrative that allows me to express my emotions without uttering a word. This project serves as a powerful means of processing my loss, enabling me to articulate my experiences of grief and healing. Through my lens, I aim to convey the enduring beauty that can emerge from decay, inviting viewers to reflect on their own journeys of loss and resilience.”
