WENDY HOPE
Cluster Exhibitor | Cluster Contemporary | 2022
Wendy Hope studied art at the Froebel Institute, London, and spent her first career bringing creativity to schools, as a teacher and head teacher - the one with a purple streak in her hair !
With colleagues, she formed an art association, organizing workshops for teachers to develop the skills needed to teach creatively. Many pupils benefitted.
In her school she hosted artists in residence and made the arts an essential experience for all pupils.
Wendy was an advisory teacher for the Gulbenkian Foundation Arts In Schools Project, working for the late Ken Robinson and other inspiring professionals.
After her school was awarded an Artsmark Gold Award by the Arts Council, Wendy moved on from education to develop her work as an artist and writer.
The artworks Wendy creates are inspired by her life drawings, by the art deco period, by found objects and by current issues that affect us all, such as Time, Memories or Unconscious Bias. The siting of the artwork is also crucial to it’s design and this is a major factor when creating for commissions, giving clients choices of colours, backgrounds, sizes and personal imagery to suit their home or business.
HopeNeon artist is Wendy Hope.
HopeNeon artworks are made from genuine neon and glass - not inferior LEDs and acrylic. The glass is sourced from Murano in Italy, famous for quality glass, and the artwork is handmade in Bristol.
Each piece of glass is handcrafted over a hot flame before gas is added for the colours, a skill that takes years to master.
These artworks do not get hot, use very little power and are safe.
You can buy or commission a HopeNeon artwork for your wall, staircase or office that will make your home, your restaurant or your business very special. I can design a piece that is personal to you, with your preferences of imagery and colours.
These original artworks will be an investment as well as adding a wow ! to your interior.
Rob Sprackman, technical collaborator, will deliver and install your purchased artwork, free of charge in the UK.
